Nathalie Nicaud, at present the most promising soprano coloratura, was born in Orange; her father was a violonist and her mother a ballet dancer. Nathalie Nicaud, a soprano with a brilliant voice and eclectic repertoire, goes on with a dazzling international career from Russia to Morocco.
Her remarkable blossoming is linked to her high-pitched soprano coloratura voice which reminds us of a diva’s crystal-clear voice. She can sing the compositions of young composers such as Eric Lebrun and Christophe Back.
She was encouraged in her youth to start opera singing while singing in the family home. Nathalie Nicaud registered at the conservatoire of Montpellier to prepare its competition. Since then she has won several awards. Among the most prestigious, we can list the international competition Leopold Bellan, the competition UFAM of Paris, the operetta competition of Orange, the competition of the golden voice of Montpellier. Every time, Nathalie Nicaud received the first prize with unanimous congratulations of the jury. All the teachers coaching her, praise her voice; in their opinions it shows an outstanding talent with a sure instinct for light and shades as well as an astonishing ability to cope with every repertoire.
Nathalie Nicaud, with Marie-Ange Leurent at the organ, has recorded a disc “Notre Dame” which deals with five centuries of music dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
